We often get asked - "Which carving knives would you recommend for someone just getting started in wood carving?" Our response is usually - "What do you think you want to carve?" Most people don't know, and just want to try anything. So, our recommendation is the wood carving set of 2 different knives.

1 - The "Detail Carver" not a really small detail carving knife, but a good starter.
2 - The "Roughout Carver" a good all around knife, you can take off a lot of wood and also do some of the details with the drop point. A larger knife, but if you want to experiment with different styles of carving, this knife will give you broad range of use.

This wood carving set should get you started and give you a feel for how you will carve. Then you can go from there, adding to your knife collection for different types of carving.

There may be tooling marks still on the blade.
